Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data DARA Telecom collects through daratelecom.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Our partner portal, when it launches, will have its own terms and privacy notice.

1. Who we are

  • This website is operated by DARA Telecom Pty. Ltd. (ACN 702 829 230), a company registered in Victoria, Australia ("DARA Telecom", "we", "us").
  • We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
  • Contact us about privacy at admin@teamdara.com.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • When you use the Request a demo, Contact us or Become a partner forms, we collect your name, work email, organisation and the message you write.
  • When you email us directly, we collect your email address and anything you include in your message.
  • Please don't include passwords, payment details or other sensitive personal information in your message. We don't need them to answer an enquiry.

Information collected automatically

  • Like any website, the servers that deliver our pages and fonts receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is handled by our hosting and font providers (see section 5).
  • We use Umami Cloud, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count visits and see which pages are popular. Umami doesn't use cookies and doesn't store your IP address. It records the page visited, the referring site, your browser, operating system, device type and approximate country or region, and it can't identify you personally.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • If you use the light/dark switch, your browser stores that choice locally (in local storage) so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device and isn't used to identify you.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, arrange a demo or discuss a partnership.
  • To keep a record of business conversations with you.
  • To keep the website running, secure and protected from spam and abuse.
  • To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
  • We will only send you news or marketing emails if you ask us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for automated decisions about you.

4. Legal basis (for visitors in the EU, EEA and UK)

  • Legitimate interests: answering enquiries you send us, following up on business opportunities, keeping the site secure, and measuring site usage with privacy-friendly analytics.
  • Steps before a contract: when you ask us for a demo or a partnership with a view to working together.
  • Consent: for any marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this website. They process data on our behalf or as needed to deliver their service:

  • GitHub (GitHub Pages): hosts the website; receives visitor IP addresses and technical data.
  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co): a third-party service that relays contact form submissions to our inbox. Its servers may be outside the EU, and it handles your submission under its own terms.
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365): hosts our email, where enquiries are received and stored.
  • Google (Google Fonts): delivers the fonts used on the site; receives your IP address when the font files load.
  • Umami (Umami Cloud): provides our website analytics; processes anonymised usage data on our behalf, stored in the EU.
  • GoDaddy: provides our domain name and DNS.
  • Our co-founders and team members, who are based in Australia, Canada and Ireland, see enquiries so they can respond.
  • Professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.
  • A buyer or successor, if the business is sold or restructured.

Links to other sites, such as our LinkedIn page, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.

6. International transfers

  • Your data may be processed in Australia, Canada, Ireland and the wider EU, and the United States (where several of our providers are based).
  • Where data leaves the EU/EEA or UK, we use providers covered by an adequacy decision (for example Canada, or US providers certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, such as GitHub, Microsoft and Google) or by Standard Contractual Clauses where they offer them.
  • Our website analytics data is stored in the EU. Our analytics provider, Umami, is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses for any transfer outside the EU.
  • Our contact form relay, FormSubmit, does not currently offer these safeguards. If you'd prefer your details not to pass through it, email us directly at admin@teamdara.com instead of using the form.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a business relationship: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Enquiries that lead to a business relationship: for as long as the relationship lasts, plus any period required by law.
  • Website analytics data: 6 months, then deleted automatically.
  • Hosting and font providers keep technical logs for the periods set out in their own policies.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete your data.
  • Restrict or object to how we use it.
  • Send your data to you or another organisation (portability).
  • Withdraw consent you have given, at any time.

Email admin@teamdara.com to make a request. We'll reply within one month. You can also complain to a regulator, such as:

  • Ireland/EU: the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local EU authority.
  • Australia: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
  • Canada: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

9. Security

  • The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection.
  • Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it.
  • No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

10. Children

  • This website is for businesses and professionals. It isn't aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy as the site and our services change. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
  • If we make a significant change, we'll highlight it on this page.

12. Contact

  • Questions about this policy or your data: admin@teamdara.com.
